This message is new as of February 7, 2024 and has 2 very important parts.
Many of you may be receiving letters from United Healthcare that are dated December 1st incorrectly reporting that I am no longer contracted with their Tucson Metro Medicare Advantage program. This is not true. We have been trying to get them to change my address to the permanent location since September. With those multiple requests that we have had to send, somehow they simply removed ALL the addresses, including this one. We have submitted a form to rectify this immediately, unfortunately, for providers, United healthcare does not have a place where providers can call for these type issues, it is all done through emails.
This morning, one of my patients called United Healthcare’s patient customer service number and told them that they had changed her provider without her consent, they were able to locate me and changed it back. Please be patient and I am confident that this will be fixed in the next 30 days. I have no plans to not be here, I am hoping that United can get this fixed quickly. I will post this on the website and any further updates that I get.
I will be out of town starting at noon on Thursday, February 15th and will return to the clinic on Tuesday morning, the 20th. If you have an urgent request that absolutely cannot wait until Tuesday, please either send a text with urgent at the beginning or say that in the beginning of your voicemail, I will do my best to help you. If you are need immediate help, please go to the emergency room or urgent care and don’t wait for me to return.
FOR ALL OTHER CALLS, Please leave a message OR text us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are most likely with a patient or on the phone with someone else. Calling multiple times may delay us getting back to you as it just creates more messages to go through, we will do our best to get back to you soon. Texting with your requests is also very helpful.
Office hours in general are from 8-4 Monday through Friday and 8-12 on Fridays – there may be days where we leave a little earlier or stay a little later, based on personal appts in Tucson or with the grandkids.

One of my strengths that patients often remark about is that I take time to listen to them.
I prefer to get to know each patient as an individual so that I can meet your needs.
This may happen over the span of several encounters, also through reading your past history.
My goal is to look at your physical and mental status, along with your most current health data (lab work, imaging, specialist consultations, hospital documents) to ensure that we have as much information as possible to make joint decisions regarding your health.
As a provider, it is important to me that you have sufficient knowledge to make decisions regarding your health pathway.
I like to take the time to explain lab results, xray or other image results plus offer options for care. This may include referrals to specialists, best practice recommendations, medications or other alternative options.
Do not let people put you in the age BOX, what are your goals? What are your abilities?

Focusing on decreasing your risks of having a major event starts early, preventative measures are based on years of gathered statistics and outcomes.
Education on these recommendations and offering options is one of my goals in decreasing:
